Pergamum Relocated to New Head Offices

Stockholm, June 1, 2011. Pergamum AB has completed the relocation to its new head offices in the Stockholm area. The new premises are in walking distance from the campus of Karolinska Institutet.

Corrado Sablone Joins Pergamum AB as Chief Financial Officer

STOCKHOLM, May 30, 2011. Pergamum, a Swedish biotechnology company with focus on the development of new treatments for wounds and skin infections, today announced the hire of Corrado Sablone as Chief Financial Officer. Mr Sablone joins Pergamum from Coca Cola Enterprises Sverige AB, where he has been the Commercial Controlling Manager since 2006. Prior to Coca Cola, Corrado Sablone has served as business controller in several companies, including public international corporations such as Tetra Pak and Tradimus.

Pergamum implements offset share issue worth SEK 120m

STOCKHOLM – May 12, 2011. Pergamum AB, Karolinska Development's portfolio company within wound- and skin infections, has conducted an offset share issue, amounting to a total value of SEK 119.6m (EUR 13.3m). Of the total amount, SEK 77.6m (EUR 8.7m) comes from Karolinska Development, thereby increasing its ownership from 60 to 61 percent.

Pergamum to extend Phase II clinical trial for prevention of post‐surgical adhesions

The Pergamum Operating Unit located in Gothenburg (PharmaSurgics in Sweden AB) – has received approval from the German Regulatory Authority and the Independent Ethics Committee to begin a Phase II clinical trial in Germany. The trial will monitor efficacy and safety of PharmaSurgics' novel candidate drug PXL01 for the prevention of post‐surgical adhesions in patients undergoing hand surgery.

Positive in vivo data on the wound healing properties of LL-37
|
|
Lipopeptide, a Pergamum operating unit, is developing the human peptide LL-37 for the treatment of hard-to-heal wounds. The in vivo efficacy of chemically synthesized peptide LL-37 in improving cutaneous wound healing has been demonstrated in leptin-deficient ob/ob mice, a widely used model for analyzing the characteristics of impaired healing. The severe wound-healing difficulties observed in ob/ob mice are partly explained by the mild diabetic phenotype of the animals.
